Problem 1: Parrot ANAFI not turning on.

In most incidents, Parrot ANAFI won’t turn on because of faulty batteries, wintering mode, outdated firmware, and insufficiently charged batteries.

Solutions.

  • Make sure ANAFI’s battery is awake. Plug the battery into the charger for getting the battery out of wintering mode.
  • Charge the ANAFI’s battery to a sufficient level before every flight. If your Parrot ANAFI aircraft don’t have enough power to boot the system, it would refuse to turn on.
  • Update ANAFI’s firmware using the FreeFlight6 app. Read How to Update Parrot Drone Firmware.
  • Reset the Parrot ANAFI battery. Plug the battery into the charger and press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds. Release it once the battery indicator LED runs successively in green and red then flash alternatively green. Once those are done, the battery reset process is done successfully.

Problem 2: Parrot ANAFI not connecting.

Most of the time, Parrot ANAFI won’t connect to the controller because of improper pairing, insufficient battery power, outdated ANAFI’s firmware, and faulty settings of the ANAFI aircraft or sky controller 3.

Solutions.

  • Pair the Sky controller 3 and ANAFI properly. Power on the Sky controller 3 and ANAFI. Then connect them with USB-A (Skycontroller 3) to USB-C (ANAFI) cable. After that wait for synchronization between Parrot Skycontroller 3 and ANAFI (steady dark blue LED on the controller). Check that the left trigger of the Parrot Skycontroller 3 activates the Anafi’s gimbal to ensure the synch is complete. Once all these steps are done successfully, unplug the Anafi from the controller and the pairing process is done successfully.
  • Charge the ANAFI and Sky controller 3 fully or to a sufficient level before a flight.
  • Update Parrot ANAFI and Skycontroller 3 firmware.
  • Reset the Parrot ANAFI. Power on the ANAFI and wait until the gimbal calibration is done. Then press and hold the power button for about 8 seconds. The LEDs would light up red one after one. Once four LEDs are red release the power button and it would reboot itself. Check the “wifi_security_key.txt” at the root of the microSD card to check whether the reset process is done successfully.

Problem 3: Parrot ANAFI no GPS signal.

Outdated firmware, outdated Freeflight 6 app, poor internet connection, and environmental interferences are the most common reasons for Parrot ANAFI GPS issues.

Solutions.

  • Connect to a strong internet connection.
  • Try to connect GPS signals in an open wide area. If you are trying to fly near tall buildings, dense woods, or signal towers it would cause the GPS to be lost. Try to fly in clear weather and open areas.
  • Update Parrot ANAFI firmware.
  • Update Freeflight 6 if it’s outdated.

Problem 4: Parrot Anafi won’t take off.

Usually, Parrot ANAFI won’t take off because of the miscalibrated gimbal, miscalibrated magnetometer, firmware issue, or unpaired ANAFI. If the Parrot ANAFI is not taking off even though its propellers are spinning, you must have installed propellers in the wrong pattern.

Solutions.

  • Install ANAFI’s Propellers in the correct pattern.
  • Update Parrot ANAFI Firmware. Outdated firmware could cause any kind of issues with drones. So it’s worth updating Parrot ANAFI firmware if you haven’t done it yet.
  • Pair the Sky controller 3 and ANAFI properly. Power on the Sky controller 3 and ANAFI. Then connect them with USB-A (Skycontroller 3) to USB-C (ANAFI) cable. Then wait for synchronization indicating a steady dark blue LED on the controller. Check that the left trigger of the Parrot Skycontroller 3 activates the Anafi’s gimbal to ensure the synch is complete. Once all these steps are done successfully, unplug the Anafi from the controller and the pairing process is done successfully.
  • Calibrate ANAFI’s gimbal. Read how to calibrate ANAFI’s gimbal.
  • Calibrate Skycontroller 3.

Solutions.

  • Check whether the SD card is compatible with Parrot ANAFI. Read the list of compatible SD cards with Parrot ANAFI.
  • Repair the SD card using Windows Command Prompt. Connect the SD card to the PC using an adaptor and open the command prompt. Then type “chkdsk” and leave a space and specify the SD card driver letter (Ex: chkdsk D). and hit enter. After that, you’ll have to wait patiently until the process is done. Once the process is finished, your SD card should be fixed and ready to go.
