(FIXED) DJI App Not Working And Responding (Why, How to Fix)

These days, many DJI users have reported that the DJI app not working and crashing after updating the app or unexpectedly. It’s quite annoying to see when the app doesn’t open when every this is ready to Fly.

Because the app is so important to flying the drone, you definitely need to fix the problem. Luckily, I was able to find out why it was happening and how to fix the issue. So after reading this article and following the steps you would be able to fix the problem.

Why DJI app not working (DJI GO/ DJI GO4 / DJI Fly).

In most cases the DJI app not working because of application problems or installing an Apk file with glitches. Also if your smart device is incompatible with the App, it could also cause this issue. There are not many steps to follow to fix this issue. So it would be quick and easy.

Step 1: Check your smartphone is compatible with the DJI app.

Your smartphone or tablet needs to satisfy the requirements to run the DJI application without any issue. The version of your device is so important for running apps. If you are an Android user, go to “Settings” > “System” and System update and check the android version of your device. Your device’s android version needs to be Android 5.0 or above to run the DJI app successfully.

If you have an apple device the DJI app requires iOS 10.0 or above. You can check all compatible devices by going to the “DJI Downloads Center” page and visiting your application. If you have the latest and high spec phone don’t worry about whether it’s compatible with the DJI App. Because it definitely would.

Step 2: Clean and free the RAM of the phone.

If your device has low RAM and it’s full, the system won’t be able to load and run another application. Check whether you have opened other apps in the background and close them or restart the device. Because the restarting process would clean and free the RAM. Usually, the DJI app requires at least 3GB of RAM to run the application.

Step 3: Download the original apk file from the DJI Download Center.

If you are an iOS user, download the DJI app only from the Appstore. Because officially release their applications to Appstore. Don’t download and install DJI apps from somewhere else. Most of them are glitched. If you are unable to find the app in the Appstore, visit DJI Downloads Center and click on your DJI app. Once you clicked that you’ll be directed to chosen DJI app download page. Click on the “Download on the App Store” button. Then the DJI app would be open in the App store. So simply install the DJI app to your iOS device.

Even though DJI officially release their apps in App Store, they don’t officially release them in the Play store. That’s why most Android users get confused about updating the DJI app when a new version is released. If you are an Android user this is would be a serious problem for you. Sometimes they update the application some glitched DJI apps in the play store and face this kind of issue.

So if you also have downloaded and installed a DJI apk file from somewhere on the internet or installed a DJI app in Playstore, first uninstall the application from your smart device. Because it’s not gonna help with fixing this issue. Then head DJI Downloads Center. There would be every version of DJI apps and applications for PC. As DJI mobile applications,

  • DJI GO4.
  • DJI GO.
  • DJI Fly.
  • DJI Virtual Flight.

Would appear on the screen. Click on your DJI app choice. After the DJI app download page is loaded, click on the “Download for Android” button. Once you clicked that the APK file of the DJI app would be downloaded automatically. After it is completely downloaded, go to the download folder and click on the DJI Apk file. Then give all the required permissions to the app and wait until it’s installed. Once it is completely installed you would see the DJI app is on your apps section. Tap and open the DJI app. It would open and work without crashing the app.
