Most of the time, DJI Mavic Air 2 refuses or is unable to take off because of aircraft IMU & compass miscalibration, improper propeller installation, unpaired aircraft, DJI battery malfunction, or no-fly zones. Most importantly, if the propellers are spinning but the Mavic Air 2 aircraft won’t take off, you might have installed propellers in the wrong pattern.

Solutions.

  • If the DJI Mavic Air 2 Aircraft indicators keep blinking yellow, the aircraft is unlinked from the controller and needs to be linked to the controller. Launch the DJI Fly App and click on the three dots at the top right corner of the camera view. Click on Control and scroll all the way down and click on “Connect to Aircraft”. Then hold the aircraft power button for approximately four seconds. Once both are linked, indicators would be solid green.

Problem 2: DJI Mavic Air 2 not turning on.

The most common reasons why DJI Mavic Air 2 won’t turn on are temporary DJI intelligent battery shutdowns and battery issues. Usually, DJI Mavic Air 2 battery temporarily shut down when it detects harmful temperatures and environments. For instance, if you left the Air 2 inside a warm place or stored it for a long period of time it might refuse to turn on because those environments are not friendly with lithium polymer batteries. Besides them, damaged battery cells and outdated Mavic Air 2 battery firmware also could cause this.

Solutions.

  • If you left the DJI Mavic Air 2 in a closed warm room or place take the battery out and leave it in an open area or airflow to cool. DJI battery’s proper temperature range is 71.6°F to 86°F (22°C to 30°C).
  • If the battery is cold let it few minutes to warm up.
  • Check whether the DJI Mavic Air 2 battery has gone into hibernation mode. If the battery indicator LEDs are solid red when it’s turned on might have gone into hibernation mode. To get the battery out from the hibernation mode, turn on the battery and wait until the solid red light goes out and plug the battery into the charger and let it out from the hibernation mode.
  • Update the DJI Mavi Air 2 battery firmware. To upgrade the DJI battery firmware, insert the faulty battery inside the aircraft and upgrade the firmware.

Push the button a second time immediately after the first push and hold for a few seconds to turn off the Mavic Air 2 properly.

Problem 4: DJI Mavic Air 2 not connecting to the computer.

Most of the time, DJI Mavic Air 2 won’t be recognized by the PC because of USB cable issues. If you can find an original USB-C to USB-A cable that came with your drone, and then use an adapter to connect to the PC, you will be fine.

Problem 5: DJI Mavic Air 2 not showing the camera feed.

As I found, in most cases, DJI Mavic Air 2 not showing the camera feed because of the outdated DJI Fly app and software glitches. Besides that, outdated Mavic Air 2 aircraft firmware also could cause this issue.

Solutions.

  • Uninstall the DJI Fly app and Install the DJI Fly app from DJI Download Centre. Uninstall the DJI Fly app on your phone. Then visit the DJI Downloads center and download the latest DJI Fly app and install it.
  • Update DJI Mavic Air 2 firmware.
  • If you face this issue after upgrading the firmware, revert the Mavic Air 2 firmware to the recent one.

Problem 6: DJI Mavic Air 2 not connecting to the controller.

In often cases, DJI Mavic Air 2 refuses to connect to the controller when unequal firmware versions are installed on the Mavic Air 2 aircraft and the controller. Other than that, unlinked Mavic Air 2 aircraft, insufficiently charged batteries, and outdated firmware could cause this issue.

Solutions.

  • Link the DJI Mavic Air 2 aircraft with the controller, If the Aircraft indicators blinking yellow. Launch the DJI Fly App and click on the three dots at the top right corner of the camera view. Click on Control and scroll all the way down and click on “Connect to Aircraft”. Then hold the aircraft power button for approximately four seconds. Once both are linked, indicators would be solid green.
  • Charge the Air 2 aircraft and controller to a sufficient level (above 50%) before a flight.
  • Keep both DJI Mavic Air 2 aircraft and controller firmware on the latest firmware. This fact is so important because they won’t connect together if different firmware versions are installed on them. Read this article to know how to update DJI drone firmware.

Problem 7: DJI Mavic Air 2 battery not charging.

Usually, DJI Mavic Air 2 refuses to get charged when its sensors detect higher or lower input amperage or voltage to the battery. Also, faulty chargers, outdated firmware, hibernation mode, and improper temperature could cause the same issue.

Solutions.

  • If the DJI Mavic Air 2 battery is warm, leave it in an airflow to cool.
  • Plug the charger into a power outlet with the required voltage and current. Usually, the DJI battery charger required input voltage is around 100 – 240 V and the amperage is 1.4 A.
  • Update DJI Mavic Air 2 battery Firmware. Upgrade the Mavic Air 2 firmware while keeping the faulty battery inside the aircraft.
  • Check whether the charger is Faulty or broken.
  • Kick the Battery out from hibernation mode. As I mentioned before, if the DJI battery went into hibernation mode, the indication LEDs would flash solid even after connecting to the charger. Turn on the battery and wait until the solid red light goes out. Then connect the battery to the charger and leave the battery for a few hours and the battery would come out from hibernation mode.

Problem 10: DJI Mavic Air controller beeping.

Why does the DJI Mavic Air controller keep beeping?

Many DJI Mavic Air 2 users confuse when the controller beeps because of miscalibrated joysticks and glitches. Because it’s hard to figure out and no clue why the controller keeps beeping in those situations. Also, DJI controller beeps when it detects a faulty or low battery when the aircraft is disconnected from the controller. I think those situations are so convienvet to understand.

Solutions.

  • Calibrate controller joysticks. Launch the DJI Fly app and connect the aircraft. Then turn off the aircraft. Go to the controller settings of the app and tap remote calibration. Once you tap it the controller would stop beeping, but we are not done yet. you will notice virtual joysticks on the screen are not centered. Tap calibration and move virtual joysticks 100% to every direction. Then click finish and turn off the controller.
