Skydio is a competitive drone in the current drone market. When I was on Skydiopilots forums and other social media, I found that some Skydio pilots face different issues with the drone and struggle with troubleshooting them.

So I decided to write an article about Skydio troubleshooting as help for Skydio pilots to fix problems with their Skydio drone. Below is the list of issues Skydio pilots are asking for solutions on the internet. I hope this article will help with fixing your issue with your Skydio.

Common Problems With Skydio Drone.

  • Problem 1: Skydio battery not charging.
  • Problem 2: Skydio 2 not connecting.
  • Problem 3: Skydio 2 is not recording audio.
  • Problem 4: Skydio 2 controller not connecting.
  • Problem 5: Skydio error code 103/ Skydio blinking red.

Problem 1: Skydio battery not charging.

Usually, the Skydio battery refuses to charge because of a faulty battery, Skydio charger firmware glitches, faulty or broken charger, and high or low amperage and voltage.

Solutions.

  • Try Pluging the charger into a different power outlet.
  • Update Skydio dual charger firmware. Skydio dual charger firmware update process usually takes 3-5 minutes. Download the latest Skydio app and update the Skydio drone to the latest firmware. Then place the battery in Skydio and power it on and place a second battery in the Dual Charger. After that plug the Dual Charger into the Skydio drone using a USB-C to USB-C cable. LEDs on the Skydio battery attached to the Dual Charger will blink green indicating the update progress. Once the update process is done, LEDs on the battery turn solid green.
  • Check whether the charger is faulty or broken. Use a multimeter and check the charger output voltage and current. If it’s not satisfying the proper output, it might have been damaged or broken. If it is you would have to replace or repair the dual charger.
  • Replace the Skydio battery.
