DJI Air 2s Error Codes (Meanings, How to Fix)

DJI Air 2s was released on 2020 and it is still an active buddy in the drone community. When I was searching about DJI Air 2s error codes, I found that many users are also facing different kinds of DJI Air 2s errors that I also have faced.

Hence, I thought that would be helpful for DJI Air 2s users if I could a simple and compact article about DJI Air 2s error codes and how to fix them. So I went through many forums including DJI Forums and was able to collect common DJI Air 2s error codes and how to fix them. Hope this article would help the DJI Air 2s users to fix their error codes.

Common DJI Air 2s Error Codes.

  • Error 1: DJI Air 2s motor error/ DJI Air 2s propeller error.
  • Error 2: DJI Air 2s battery installation error.
  • Error 3: DJI Air 2s upward vision sensor error.
  • Error 4: DJI Air 2s ESC error.
  • Error 5: DJI Air 2s battery error.
  • Error 6: DJI Air 2s error code 30064.
  • Error 7: DJI Air 2s error code 40002.
  • Error 8: DJI Air 2s error 40011.

Error 1: DJI Air 2s motor error/ DJI Air 2s propeller error.

DJI Air 2s motor error or propeller error is usually thrown because of uneven motor spinning that is usually caused by propellers’ effects.

How to Fix DJI Air 2s motor error.

  • Check whether propellers are installed in the proper pattern.
  • Restart the aircraft.
  • Replace the propellers with a new set. Slightly bent propellers could cause unstable flight and some motors need to spin faster to keep the drone stable. Therefore try replacing the current propeller set.


Error 2: DJI Air 2s battery installation error.

In most cases, DJI Air 2s battery installation error is thrown because of a lack of connection between the battery’s side metal connectors and the inside of the aircraft metal pads.

How to Fix DJI Air 2s battery installation error.

  • Check whether the battery is fitting well.
  • Clean battery’s side metal connectors and connectors inside the drone.

Error 3: DJI Air 2s upward vision sensor error.

DJI Air 2s upward vision sensor is caused by the miscalibrated sensor system. Usually, it could be fixed by calibrating the sensor system using DJI Assistant 2.

How to fix DJI Air 2s upward vision sensor error.

  • Restart the aircraft.
  • Clean sensors.
  • Refresh or update the firmware.

Error 4: DJI Air 2s ESC error.

Usually, ESC status errors are caused by drone crashes, firmware glitches, and faulty electronic speed controller (ESC).

How to Fix DJI Air 2s ESC error.

  • Restart the aircraft.
  • Update DJI Air 2s firmware.
  • Replace or Repair ESC. Usually, you could buy Air 2s ESC online, but it’s better to repair or replace it through DJI.


Error 5: DJI Air 2s battery error.

In most cases, DJI Air 2s battery error is caused by the faulty power management board and battery firmware glitches.

  • Update the Air 2s firmware while keeping the faulty battery inside.
  • Drain the battery to zero and recharge it fully.
  • Replace the battery.

Error 6: DJI Air 2s error code 30064.

DJI Air 2s error code 30064 stands for “Unable to take off (Code:30064)”, which is usually caused by firmware glitches and IMU miscalibration.

How to Fix DJI Air 2s error code 30064.

  • Restart the aircraft. This step would clear faulty temporary data, that might cause this issue.
  • Update DJI Air 2s firmware. If this error is caused by a firmware glitch, this site would fix it.
  • Calibrate DJI Air 2s IMU.
  • Try with a new battery.


Error 7: DJI Air 2s error code 40002.

DJI Air 2s error code 40002 stands for “Gimbal Stuck” error. Usually, the gimbal is stuck because of accumulating debris around the gimbal motor.

How to Fix DJI Air 2s error code 4002.

  • Check if something is blocking the gimbal movement.
  • Clean the gimbal motor and lubricate the gimbal motor. Check out the below video.
  • Contact DJI Support and repair or replace the gimbal. If you crashed the drone recently, it might damage the gimbal.


Error 8: DJI Air 2s error 40011.

DJI Air 2s error code 40011 stands for “Gimbal Calibration Error”.

  • Restart the aircraft.
