DJI Mavic Pro Error Codes (Why, How to Fix)

Error 1: DJI Mavic Pro IMU calibration error (Error code 50).

If you notice “Error Code 50- IMU Error” that means the Mavic Pro IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) has miscalibrated. So to fix this error the best effective action is to perform an IMU calibration.

How to Fix IMU Calibration Error.

  • Calibrate DJI Mavic Pro IMU. Power on the Mavic Pro aircraft and controller and connect to the mobile device. Open the DJI GO app and enter the camera view. Go to Main controller settings> Sensors > IMU and hit “Calibrate”. Then follow the demonstration and steps pop up on the DJI GO app screen by placing the Mavic Pro same way.   • Change the calibration location and try again IMU calibration.
  • Update Mavic Pro Firmware.
  • Factory reset DJI Mavic Pro using DJI Assistant 2. Download and install the DJI Assistant 2 For Mavic from DJI Downloads Center. Then connect the Mavic Pro aircraft to the PC using the USB cable and power on the aircraft. Open the DJI Assistant 2 and log in to your DJI account and choose the DJI Mavic Pro drone. Then hit “Factory Restore Defaults”.

Error 2: DJI Mavic Pro remote controller stick error.

If your Mavic Pro controller is miscalibrated also means joysticks are miscalibrated, the controller would start beeping continuously. So the action to fix this issue is calibrating the Mavic Pro controller.

How to Fix Mavic Pro remote controller stick error.

  • Calibrate controller joysticks. connect the remote controller to the mobile device and turn on the remote controller. Open the DJI GO app and enter camera view and click on three dots at the top left corner. Click on the remote controller icon and tap remote calibration. Then you will be directed to the Calibration process. once you are ready for RC calibration push both sticks up all the way to coincide the virtual dots with directing dots. Error 3: DJI Mavic Pro battery error.

Usually, DJI Mavic Pro battery error pops because of an imbalance in battery cells, faulty power management board, and battery firmware glitches.

  • Drain the battery to zero and recharge it fully.
  • Change power management board. If the error still exists, the power management board might be glitched or damaged. So you would have to change the power management board. Advisable to contact DJI Support.
  • Replace the battery.

Error 4: DJI Mavic Pro sd card error.

Usually DJI Mavic Pro throws an SD card error or “Unknown SD card” because of using unsupported SD card or corrupted SD card. Using a supported SD card and formatting the SD card would be some effective actions to fix this issue.

How to Fix DJI Mavic Pro SD card error.

  • Check whether the SD card is compatible with the Mavic Pro. Visit the DJI Mavic Pro Product Info page and check whether your SD card is listed as a compatible SD card.
  • Repair the SD card using the Windows command prompt. Connect the SD card to the PC and open the command prompt. Then type “chkdsk” and leave a space and specify the SD card driver letter (Ex: chkdsk D). and hit enter. Once the process is done the sd card is repaired.
  • Format the SD card. Formatting the SD card resets all the settings and ready the SD card to use a new purpose. Connect your SD card to your PC and enter File Explorer. Then right-click on the SD card driver and select the format option. Wait a few seconds until it’s done.
  • Update DJI Mavic Pro Aircraft firmware.

Error 5: DJI Mavic Pro ESC error.

Usually, ESC status errors can be caused by outdated firmware and faulty electronic speed controller (ESC).

How to Fix Mavic Pro ESC error.

  • Restart the aircraft.
  • Update Mavic Pro firmware.

Error 6: DJI Mavic Pro compass error.

In most cases, Mavic Pro Compass Error pops up because of placing and flying the Mavic Pro near magnetic fields. Once the aircraft is placed near a magnetic field, it assumes the artificial magnetic field as the earth’s natural magnetic field. Then it pops “Compass Error” when the aircraft checks its orientation against its GPS position and finds a discrepancy.

How to Fix Mavic Pro Compass Error.

  • Avoid Electromagnetic interference. Avoid flying near powerlines, communication towers, huge buildings, etc.

  • Contact DJI Support. If you still get the error, it’s better to contact DJI for repair.


Error 7: DJI Mavic Pro gimbal overload error/ DJI Mavic Pro Error 200.

Usually, DJI Mavic Pro throws the “Gimbal Motor Overloaded” error because of restricted gimbal movement, faulty gimbal, faulty ribbon cable, or firmware issues.

How to Fix Gimbal Overload Error.

  • Check Something is blocking gimbal movement.
  • Update DJI Mavic Pro Firmware.
  • Calibrate the gimbal.
  • Factory Reset the Mavic Pro. Connect the Mavic Pro to the PC using the USB cable. Then power it on. Open the DJI Assistant 2 and choose the Mavic Pro and hit “Factory Restore Defaults”.

Error 8: DJI Mavic Pro wheel error.
