Solution 1: Wake the battery from hibernation.

If you left or stored the battery, it might have gone into hibernation mode.

  • Connect the Mini 2 battery to the charger and give it a few hours to wake from hibernation if it has gone into hibernation mode.

Solution 2: Clear PF flags from the battery management system.

For this step you need,

  1. CP2112 interface adapter.
  2. Dupont line cables connecting cables (Male-Female).
  3. DJI Battery Repair software.
  4. Windows PC.
  • Download and install the DJI battery killer software to the PC.
  • Take the CP2112 interface adapter and inspect its pins. You would see seven input pins named VCC, GND, SDA, SCL, WAK, INT, and RST. From them, we just need to use three pins which are GND, SDA, and SCL.

Problem 2: DJI Mini 2 is not stable.

Usually, DJI Mini 2 would fly unstably, if its propellers are damaged, IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) needs some calibration or the Mini 2 aircraft is not connected to a sufficient number of satellites.

Solution 1: Inspect propellers.

Run through propellers through and check whether you notice cracks, or bent on the propeller. If you notice some damage on the propellers, replace the Mini 2 propeller set with a new one.

Solution 2: Calibrate the IMU.

  • Place the DJI Mini 2 on a flat surface.
  • Power on the aircraft while its arms closed in.
  • Open the DJI Fly app and connect to the aircraft.
  • Click on the three dots at the top right corner and open the menu bar.

Solution 3: Wait until at least 8 satellites connect to the drone.

Once you power on the Mini 2, you should wait for at least eight satellites to connect to the drone before the takeoff. If you just take off right away, it’s normal to have an unstable flight.

Problem 3: DJI Mini 2 not taking off.

In most cases, DJI Mini 2 won’t take or is unable to take off because of installing propellers to the aircraft in an arbitrary way. If you didn’t follow the proper propeller pattern to install them chances are your Mini 2 won’t take off even though its propellers are spinning or it would flip to the side. Also if your Mini 2 is inside a Noflyzone you won’t be able to take off the drone without unlocking the area.

Solution 1: Install propellers in the right order.

When you are buying the propeller set for the Mini 2, you would get them in separate packs named A and B.

“A” propeller set has a little bit of bump on the propeller but the “B” propellers don’t have that bump.

  • The “A” propellers need to be installed to the front-right and back-left.

Solution 2: Unlock the area if the Mini 2 is on Noflyzone.

If the Mini 2 is on Noflyzone, you have to unlock the zone before taking off.

How to check whether you are in a Noflyzone.

  • Connect the phone to the internet.
  • Open the DJI Fly app and enter the camera view. Then tap on the little map icon in the bottom left corner.

  • Now you would see colored circles and boxes in some places. If you are in a red, yellow, or blue area, you won’t be able to take off the drone casually.
  • You can see more details by clicking on the area.

  • If you are in a Restricted zone (red area), a densely populated area (dark red) area or, Regulatory restricted zone (light blue area) you can’t take off or fly the drone in the area.
  • If you are in the Altitude zone (grey area), Warning zone (orange area), or green area, you can take off the drone without any extra work.
  • If you are in the Authorization zone (dark blue area), or Enhanced warning zone (brown area), you have to unlock the zone before taking off the Mini 2.

How to unlock unlockable Noflyzones.

If you are in an Authorization zone (dark blue area), or Enhanced warning zone you can unlock those areas and fly or take off the drone inside the area.

  • Before that make sure you are logged in to the DJI account that is connected to the Mini 2.
  • Tap on the zone. Then tap on “Yes”.

Problem 4: DJI Mini 2 keeps disconnecting.

In most cases, DJI Mini 2 keeps disconnecting because of low battery power, bad Wifi settings, and electromagnetic interference. Most of the time, electromagnetic interference can’t be controlled by yourself, So the only thing you should do is avoid electromagnetic surroundings such as powerlines, communication towers, and huge buildings when flying the drone.

Solution 1: Charge the Mini 2’s batteries fully before the flight.

Low battery power could cause a poor connection between the aircraft and the remote controller. So make sure to charge them fully before the flight.

Solution 2: Set up Transmission Settings for a strong connection.

  • Then open the DJI Fly app and enter the camera view.
  • Tap on the three dots at the right top corner and tap on “Transmission”.

  • Then choose “Dual-band” as the frequency option.
  • Choose “Auto” as the Channel mode. Therefore once the drone gets interference in the current frequency range, it would move to the frequency range with the lowest interference. So
  • Then set up the Downlink Bandwidth to 20MHz.

Problem 6: DJI Mini 2 not connecting to the controller.

In many cases, DJI Mini 2 not connecting to the controller because of the installed unequal firmware versions to the aircraft and the remote controller. Besides that, if your Mini 2 is not paired with the remote controller, the remote controller won’t connect to the aircraft.

Solution 1: Update/ Downgrade the aircraft firmware to the remote controller’s firmware.

  • Connect your RC to the mobile device and launch the DJI Fly app.
  • Tap on the three dots at the top right corner and enter the “About” menu.
  • Now you would see the RC firmware version on the list. Note the RC firmware version.
  • Download and install the DJI Assistant 2 application to the PC.
