Error 1: DJI Mavic Air IMU error.

Usually, DJI Mavic Air throws an “IMU Error” when the DJI Mavic Air (Inertial Measurement Unit) has miscalibrated and required an IMU calibration. In most cases, Mavic Air users face this issue after carrying the drone to another place. Also, DJI has advised to calibrate the DJI drone IMU after moving the drone to another location.

How to Fix IMU Calibration Error.

  • Calibrate DJI Mavic Air IMU. Power on the Mavic Air aircraft and controller and connect to the mobile device. Open the DJI GO app and enter the camera view. Go to Main controller settings> Sensors > IMU and hit “Calibrate”. Then follow the demonstration and steps pop up on the DJI GO app screen by placing the aircraft the same way. Read how to Calibrate DJI drone’s IMU article to figure out how to calibrate DJI drone IMU.
  • Change the calibration location and try again IMU calibration.
  • Update Mavic Air Firmware.
  • Factory reset DJI Mavic Air using DJI Assistant 2. Download and install the DJI Assistant 2 For Mavic from DJI Downloads Center. Then connect the Mavic Air aircraft to the PC using the USB cable and power on the aircraft. Open the DJI Assistant 2 and log in to your DJI account and choose the DJI Mavic Air drone. Then hit “Factory Restore Defaults”.

Error 2: DJI Mavic Air compass error.

Most of the time, Mavic Air throws “Compass Error” because of placing or flying the Mavic Air aircraft near magnetic fields. When the aircraft comes near a magnetic field, it assumes the artificial magnetic field as the earth’s natural magnetic field. Then it pops “Compass Error” when the aircraft checks its orientation against its GPS position and finds a discrepancy.

How to Fix Mavic Air Compass Error.

  • Avoid Electromagnetic interference. Avoid flying near powerlines, communication towers, huge buildings, etc.
  • Calibrate the compass in an open wide area. Move away from the place where you currently receive Compass Error to an open area. Then perform a proper compass calibration. Read how to calibrate the compass.
  • Contact DJI Support. If you still get the error, it’s better to contact DJI for repair.

Error 3: DJI Mavic Air “Cannot Fly” error (Error code 200).

As On DJI Forums, this error is caused by firmware issues and faulty settings.

How to Fix DJI Mavic Air “Cannot Fly” error (Error code 200).

  • Restart the aircraft.
  • Update the Mavic Air firmware using DJI Assistant 2.
  • Factory Reset the Mavic Air. Connect the Mavic Air to the PC using the USB cable. Then power it on. Open the DJI Assistant 2 and choose the Mavic Air and hit “Factory Restore Defaults”.

Error 4: DJI Mavic Air camera error code 3/ code 4.

DJI Mavic Air error code 3 and code 4 stand for “Camera Error”. Follow the below common steps to fix DJI Mavic Air camera error 3/4.

How to Fix DJI Mavic Air camera error code 3/ code 4.

  • Restart the Mavic Air aircraft.
  • Update the firmware.
  • Reset the Mavic Air camera settings.
  • Contact DJI Support.

Error 5: DJI Mavic Air / Mavic Air 2 esc error (Error code 30085).

In most cases, DJI Mavic Air ESC error is caused by firmware issues and a faulty electronic speed controller (ESC).

How to Fix Mavic Air ESC error.

  • Update Mavic Air firmware.
  • Repair or replace ESC. Better contacting DJI Support. If you want you can check out the below video which demonstrates ESC repair process.

Error 6: DJI Mavic Air 2 motor error.

Motor error. Check propellers and fly with caution (Code: 30163). This error is usually thrown because of uneven motor spinning most of the time caused by propellers’ effects.

How to Fix DJI Mavic Air motor error.

  • Check whether propellers are installed in the proper pattern.
  • Restart the aircraft.
  • Replace the propellers with a new set. Slightly bent propellers could cause unstable flight and some motors need to spin faster to keep the drone stable. Therefore try replacing the current propeller set.

Error 7: DJI Mavic Air battery error.

In most cases, DJI Mavic Air “Battery Error” pops because of an imbalance in battery cells, faulty power management board, and battery firmware glitches.

Fix DJI Mavic Air Battery Error.

  • Update the Mavic Air firmware while keeping the faulty battery inside.
  • Drain the battery to zero and recharge it fully.
  • Replace the battery.
  • Change power management board. If the error still exists, the power management board might be glitched or damaged. So you would have to change the power management board. Advisable to contact DJI Support.

Error 8: DJI Mavic Air 2 downward/ forward vision sensor error.

Usually, you can fix DJI Mavic Air downward and forward sensor errors by calibrating sensors using DJI Assistant 2. Also, miscalibrated sensors cause this issue.

Error 10: DJI Mavic Air remote controller connection error.

In most cases, Mavic Air controller connection error is caused by crowded or poor signals, high levels of electromagnetic interference, and low battery power.

How to Fix DJI Mavic Air remote controller connection error.

  • Charge the Mavic Air controller and aircraft to a sufficient level.
  • Face sides of antennas toward the drone. Instead of pointing, the ends of the antenna face the sides of the antenna toward the drone and point sideways of the antennas towards the drone for better signal coverage.
  • Update the Mavic Air firmware.
  • Change the frequency of radio signals. Changing the frequency channel from a crowded one to a higher frequency (2.4GHz to 5.8 GHz) also could help with a stronger remote connection with the aircraft. Check out the below video to know how to change the channel frequency to a higher one.

Error 11: DJI Mavic Air navigation system error.
